Dallas has been tutoring virtually for over four years and has helped students all over the country increase their grades and confidence in themselves. Dallas has a bachelor’s degree in Biochemistry and a Master’s degree in Biochemistry and Medical Microbiology. Dallas is also a classically trained clarinetist and has performed all over the country.
After years of tutoring informally year round and many friends, family, and clients telling Dallas she should start her own company, Flutterby Tutoring and Academic Coaching was born! Flutterby offers consistent 1:1 tutoring in many different areas. The biggest goal for every student is to improve their confidence and help them realize that they can do challenging things and that they ARE smart! Every student learns a little differently, especially those who have ADHD or dyslexia/dyscalculia. Having struggled to learn math in school, Dallas knows what it is like to feel behind or have anxiety around learning. It wasn’t until a college professor took the time to teach her calculus in a new way that Dallas started to put all the pieces together from math classes in the past, and finally found a love for it. These experiences have taught Dallas that there are multiple ways to teach concepts, and each student has different needs. Dallas has experience working with a wide range of students and has learned how to manage her own dyscalculia, allowing her to teach math and science in a way that makes sense to students who are struggling.
